North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust’s Maternity and Neonatal Voices partnership is currently seeking new volunteers to help shape its local maternity services.
You could help the organisation to improve its maternity and neonatal services for parents and babies in the region by sharing your experience and ideas for improvements – as the trust is actively on the lookout for new volunteers.
Hannah Mathews, interim head of midwifery, said: “We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are keen to be a part of our group and to help us to make meaningful changes that improve our maternity services for local families.
“Currently, we are on the lookout for a new chair and team members who will be the voice of our parents and their babies. We are keen to reflect the diverse community in which we serve and we would like to welcome members from all backgrounds to get involved.”
The maternity and neonatal voices partnership (MNVP) is a working group comprised of parents and their families, commissioners and maternity staff, who work together to review and contribute to the development of local maternity care – ensuring it meets the needs of the community it serves.
Hannah added: “As part of the working group you will get to take part in helping us to gather feedback, sharing the patient experience, advocate for improvements and ensure that our patients voices are heard in decision-making in our maternity and neonatal services.”
“You would normally be expected to spend three to four days a month with the group and there will be remuneration of £150 a day, which will be paid as expenses.
“For anyone interested in becoming a part of the group, an essential requirement will be that you have used out maternity or neonatal services, or have experience of working regularly with new and expectant parents. You also cannot already be employed within the trust.”
